Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
At ARCHITECT SYSTEMS, we recognize our responsibility to uphold the highest ethical standards and comply with all applicable laws and regulations related to modern slavery and human trafficking.
In particular, we adhere to the principles enshrined in the Swiss Constitution (notably Article 31 on personal freedom) and the Swiss Criminal Code (Article 183 concerning human trafficking), as well as other relevant Swiss federal laws and directives.
Endorsement of International Frameworks
In addition to strict adherence to Swiss regulations, we endorse and uphold a range of international standards and frameworks aimed at preventing forced labor, human trafficking, and related forms of exploitation. These include:
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR)
Fundamental Conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO)
The Palermo Protocol
The United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs)
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Relevant international treaties, including the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW)
Our Commitment
We maintain a strong commitment to conducting our business ethically, with a zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery. We expect our suppliers to uphold these same high standards. Given the nature of our operations, we assess the risk of modern slavery within our business as low and have not identified any instances within our operations or supply chains in the past year.
To uphold our commitment, we are establishing comprehensive internal policies and procedures designed to prevent slavery and human trafficking. We cultivate a culture of integrity and accountability, ensuring our dealings with clients, employees, and the public reflect our core values. Employees are encouraged to report any compliance concerns directly to management.
Risk-Based Due Diligence and Supplier Standards
We take a risk-based approach to assessing and managing our supplier relationships. As we review and renew contracts, we are incorporating explicit clauses that require compliance with all relevant anti-slavery legislation. These provisions also include audit and termination rights in cases where there is reasonable evidence of non-compliance. In this way, we help ensure that the organizations we work with share our commitment to combating modern slavery.
Awareness and Training
Awareness is crucial to preventing modern slavery. We provide clear guidance on the professional standards expected of all employees. New hires receive copies of our policies and we actively reinforce our commitment to ethical practices. Our policies and procedures are reviewed and updated annually to ensure ongoing compliance and effectiveness.
We understand that combating modern slavery is an ongoing effort. Through these initiatives, ARCHITECT SYSTEMS is dedicated to fostering a responsible and transparent business environment.
